Reagan Schaefer
Research Assistant
Reagan earned her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Victim Studies from Sam Houston State University in May 2026. Her research interests include cultural differences, prejudice within shared communities, and the development of political ideologies, with a particular focus on how these ideologies are shaped by social and environmental influences. She plans to pursue a Ph.D. beginning in Fall 2027 and aspires to become a licensed psychologist. Ultimately, she hopes to apply her expertise within the political sphere to better understand and address the psychological factors that influence public policy and societal decision-making. Outside of her academic pursuits, Reagan enjoys reading, writing, exercising, and practicing taekwondo. She is also committed to serving her community through volunteer work with the Montgomery County Women's Center.
Abdo Elnakouri is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Houston. After earning his Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, he recently completed a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at Northwestern University’s RAM Lab. He is fascinated by how people come to experience reality in such diverse ways (e.g., through different political beliefs and religious convictions) and why people often resist changing their worldviews. When away from work, you can usually find Abdo with friends, watching TV shows (that end well), and cooking up new playlists.
