Abdo Elnakouri
Principal Investigator
Abdo Elnakouri is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Houston. After earning his Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, he recently completed a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at Northwestern University’s RAM Lab. He is fascinated by how people come to experience reality in such diverse ways (e.g., through different political beliefs and religious convictions) and why people often resist changing their worldviews. When away from work, you can usually find Abdo with friends, watching TV shows (that end well), and cooking up new playlists.
Mohammad Soboh
Research Assistant
Mohammad Soboh is an undergraduate student at the University of Houston, majoring in Biochemistry and pursuing a pre-med track, who plans to graduate in 2027. He is interested in psychological research focused on motivation, belief systems, and how people approach personal goals, which he hopes can translate well into his career in medicine. Outside of research, Mohammad enjoys being involved in online tutoring and community service in the Houston area. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and exploring new places locally.
